Roxina ( SLD )
On March 11th, 2008 I went to a student lead discussion which was about life after death. The class was full because the topic was very interesting. Students were from different countries, and they had different ideas which were based on their religions. In addition, we started with Muslim people. As they said, they believe in heaven and hell. Moreover, they believe that after death all the people in the world are going to be divided to 2 groups. The first group is people who have done good things in their lives, and the second group is the people who have done bad things. Furthermore, these people will be judged by god, and they will go to heaven or hell based on how they lived their lives. In contrast, some students were talking about something new. They said that they think after death people's souls will go to animal's body and they will start a new life in an animal's body. On the other hand, 2 students implied that they don't believe in god, and they said that they believe there is no hell or heaven. In other words, they said there is nothing after death. Even thought I didn't have a chance to talk because we were out of time, I was thinking about this topic and I have another opinion. In my point of view, everything has a reason, and we are in this world for a reason. In addition, I believe in heaven, and hell in this world and in the other world as well. For instance, I believe hell, and heaven are in this world too and everytime I do something bad, something bad happens to me. In contrast, everytime I do something good, I feel someone is paying me back. In other words, everything is balanced. In addition, people can make this world a heaven for themselves with their good actions. In contrast, people who commit sin will suffer from what they have done in this world, and the other world as well. Moreover, when we look around we see different people with different lives and it is a good question to ask that why we are so different? Why someone is rich and another person is poor? Why some people are blind even though most people are able to see? Why some people cannot walk even though most people can walk? There should be a reason that we are so different from each other. As I believe god has created this world like this which shows that this creator is a smart creator. In addition, I believe that there should be a reason that people are so different from each other. In my point of view, after death people will be judged by god, and if they have been a good person in their first lives, they will have a better life than the life that they used to have. In contrast, if someone has been a bad person, he/she will have a most terrible life even than his/her first life. That is how people have different lives and their life is based on their first life. However, personally I need to think more because my friend had a good answer for me. As he said, people don’t remember what they have done in their past lives. In addition, the purpose of getting punished is to learn something. Thus, how people can learn to be a good person when they don’t even remember what they have done in their first lives? In conclusion, we couldn't agree with each other in the student lead discussion because people have different ideas about religion. However almost all of us believed that there is somebody named god who will judge us for what we do in our lives.

Wow, sounds like all the students that went to this discussion had very strong views on the afterlife, if there is one at all. Thanks for sharing it in detail and for sharing your opinions.
no belief no belief...give me truth
