Why Nurse?

Have you ever wanted to be a Nurse? Being a nurse is extremely significant for the society as well as family in many certain ways. Nursing is a very responsible and helpful job that all nurses are required to take care of the patients very carefully. Therefore, many universities in Canada offer a high requirement for nursing program. Many students who have prior nursing background will not be able to get in as freshmen for many reasons. Last week, York University conduced an information session of the 2nd degree entry nursing program for students who are interested and wanted to study nursing with prior nursing background. The 2nd degree nursing program particularly reflects to a unique teaching approach that focuses on cultivating human relationship. To be eligible for this program, applicants must have completed a minimum of 60 credits at a recognized university prior to admission, with a cumulative grade point average of at least a B or C+ on York scale average of at least 30 credits. The 60 credits must be completed from Psychology, Statistic, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Philosophy, and Humanities. There are as much as 12 different kinds of careers for undergraduate students including critical car nursing, emergency care nursing, labors and delivery nurse. Do you know that there is a connection between Business and Nursing? Business in Nursing trains students toward establishing, promoting, or consulting for business ventures in the health care industry. They can build on their nursing knowledge to develop medical devices or computerized systems for delivering health care, which frees staff nurses to spend more time caring for patients. Nursing is truly a wonderful and amazing job. I just love it, Don't you?

"class 177" :)

Actually, I didn’t go to any interesting places this week; also, I did nothing special; I don’t want to watch any movie, and I have no idea what to write about. Everything what is in my mind: RESEARCH PAPER! Honestly, right now, I have only one great wish: to finish this classes and take a little bit rest…….. Finally, we have only one week left! :))) One more week out of eight. It was really nice and interesting time, even though everybody is a little bit tired now. One great teacher, twelve interesting students, and eight long weeks…….. :)))
What I want to do, try to describe each person in one short sentence….. :)Pui – the most punctual person in the class: her attendance can be an excellent example for everyone! Shadi – person who always asks questions, and if he decides to be policeman, this quality will be really helpful in this profession. :) Xing-Xing – person whose name I still cannot pronounce right, but somebody who sits next to her found clue how to do this right…… :) Sharon – nice and beautiful girl who has never changed her sit in the class :))) Qi – very intelligent person. Dina – persuasive girl whose confidence can be good example and who always tries to answer questions, sometimes even Shadi’s questions :))) Melvin – mister “yes” :) I mentioned that very often when he states something, the word “yes” follows after this….. :) Yan – person who always gives good arguments for holding an opinion. Elson – Elson is Elson :) sometimes he can be so different that it's hard to distinguish his common characteristic, but certainly, he's realy nice person :) Roxina – girl who can be a really fantastic teacher…… I think everybody likes her grammar group teaching methods! :) D – of course, - mister “however”!!!!! :))) person, who always finds some arguments to argue about! Me – I am regular student………. And, finally, Corinna – our competent and qualified teacher who inspires as for so many things! She is always smiled, even at that time when she is tired herself :)))) teacher, who really helps us a lot!!!!!!!!!!!! Together we are Class 117! :)

Library

Last weekends, I went to the library to do research for my final paper. Because my research paper topic was very common, I had to change my topic. Actually, I was worried about my research paper on last Thursday, I thought it was difficult to change to another topic. However, this weekends, in the library, I found my new topic, the negative of Disney movies, was very interesting. The topic maybe a shock for others, because I will talk about the negative effects. However, the interesting thing was it was hard to find information about positive effects of Disney moives. Anyway, I had a lot of fun to research my new topic, and this was my first time to spend the whole weekends in the library.

Quiet place for final research paper

This week, I usually spend time with my final research paper, so I went to library near my aunt’s house in Richmond Hill on Sunday. I went there because I wanted to live in quiet place. I noticed that some Canadian families encourage their children to love libraries. They told me that they almost came to borrow books and DVDs every week. I though back to my old experience. When I was young, I didn’t like to spend time in the library. I usually felt sleep in the library even though I wanted to study; however, since I came here, if I want to review my lesson, I like to work in library. Canada has changed my attitude with the libraries.

votes for women

Today we watched a film which was about the women rights to vote. In the past, women in the United States did not have suffrage; therefore, a group of women established an organization to fight with their right. However, they confronted lots of difficulties. For example, men could not accept what those women did; as a result, men blackguarded them. Moreover, some of women were arrested. Those women, however, did not give up until the government gave the rights for women to vote. One of the parts in the movie made me feel sympathetic to the heart was the leader of the organization who was arrested refused to eat because she thought she did not against the law, and her partners followed what she did. As a result, the jailer isolated that leader in a cocooned room. Later, when the leader was back, one of them was starting singing a song. Little by little, everybody stopped eating, and sang the song together; the restaurant was rift with that song suddenly.

Crash

Last week, we watched a movie named Crash in my seminar class. It was about discrimination in Los Angeles, and it includes several stories. Two policemen and a couple, a male detective and his younger brother, a female detective and a Korean woman, two thieves and a Korean man, and a Persian-immigrant father and his daughter. The director shows how these groups of people treat each other. I think the movie is amazing because the ending of the movie is surprise to me. I thought some people were bad guy, but they did good things in the end. I thought someone were good guys, but they did very bad things.

Roxina (Movie 3)

Today I watched another movie called Tuesdays with Morrie. The movie was about an old professor called Morrie who was dying from ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Even though he was suffering from this disease, he was always trying to motivate people to think about beautiful things in the world. Love, for example, was one of his favorite topics. As he said: " Love another one, or die " . The movie doesn't have an interesting plot, however, it includes many meaningful sentences such as " When you learn how to die, you learn how to live ". In addition, Morrie has a friend who is one of his previous students named Sean. Sean really cared about his professor, and in many situations he provided happiness for him. At the end of the movie, the professor died from ALS. Actually this movie was a very sad movie, and I had no idea why Patricia chose this movie for her students. The reason that I watched this movie was my friend. He was supposed to write an essay about this movie, so we watched it together; moreover, we were crying for 1 hour and half. I didn't like the movie, in sharp contrast, I loved some of the sentences that the old guy used in this movie and I believe that was the reason that Patricia chose this movie for her students.

ourdoor activity

Spring is coming. Do you like ride a bike? This time is the best for you to ride a bike. You can notice surrounding in the town; moreover, you can do your exercise at the same time. When I lived in Thailand, I didn’t like ride the bike too much. I rode it just only in my village, but since I came here, I sometimes rode with my cousin in last spring. Before I didn’t know why Canadian liked to do activities outside, but now I know. I think winter time was so boring for us because we couldn’t do outdoor activities. Summer Vacation

Hi mates,
Summer holiday is coming with a beautiful sunshine and warm weather.
Would you like to go visit your hometown? These days my parents called me frequently, and asked if I would like to go back. I was hesitated to give them the answer at first due to my financial problems. Firstly, I want to get a part time job in summer, because it is a good season to earn money so that I can pay back for the rental and tuition fees by myself instead of depending on my parents. Another reason is that the plane tickets in summer are very expansive. I do not want to waste too much money. Thirdly, even though I cannot face to my parents and hug them, I still can talk to them online or call them anytime I wish. Thinking of these reasons, I decided to stay here during summer. Before making this decision, I also discussed with some international students and tried to understand their reasons. One of them said that he must go home once a year. Others explained that living in Toronto is very boring so that they have to go back and visit their old friends. How about you?

....... movie - a love story

Behind every great love is a great story!!! “The Notebook” is one of such films that may make you feel so happy and at the same time a little bit sad…… It is a great story
The movie focuses on an old man reading a story to an old woman in a nursing home. The story he reads follows two young lovers named Allie and Noah who meet one evening at a carnival. However, they are separated by Allie's parents who dissaprove of Noah's unwealthy family and move Allie away. After waiting for Noah, who writes her for several years, Allie meets and gets engaged to a handsome young soldier. When seeing Noah's picture in the paper, Allie is drawn back to him. They spent a few days together and she doesn't want to leave. It is evident that they still have feelings for each other, and Allie has to choose between her fiance and her first love.
Personally, I believe in such story when two persons who love each other and sacrifice their life for endless love die at the same time. However, there are some contradictions in this film. First of all, when the old men, who are telling this story, looks through the family photograph album, the husband who always stays near this woman has black hair, but initially the man with whom this woman was in love has fair hair……. Second, the grandchildren, who come to visit this old woman, look like the soldier but not Noah…. :(((( Now I am a little bit in doubt whom this girl has chosen………

An interesing TV program

I found a very interesting TV program named Dog Whisper. This program usually starts at 6 o'clock in the afternoon on Nitional Geography Channel. The purpose for this program is to teach people how to successfully train their dogs. As we know, in north America, a lot of people have dogs at home. They treat them as friends or even family members. Because of this, a lot of dogs are spoiled by their hosts; as a result, people realized that they had difficulty to control their dogs' misbehavior. The program Dog Whisper helps them to solve this problem. In this program, the dog behavior specialist, Cesar Millan who has been called a Dr. Phil for dogs helps hosts to stop dogs' misbehavior through analyzing dogs' psychology. No matter how aggressive or nervous the dogs are, Dr. Millan can finally domesticate them. It is like a miracle. I would not believe it if I did not watch this. The most amazing is that he has never beaten or even yelled at dogs. I like dogs very much and I have learn a lot from this program. If you have a dog I hope you guys are interested in this.

The ideal job

My ideal job? Actually, I have not thought about it yet; however, I like to live and work as a farmer ( my dream ^^). I can do plant vegetables, fruits, raise domestic fowls , so I can sell products from these things. For example, I can sell eggs from hen, or I can take milk from milk cow. Moreover,I like the fresh air of the country side with no noisy sound from traffic. I can sleep on the grass to enjoy the cool air, or I can go fishing that we can not do in city. In addition, I can raise many dogs because I have a huge garden to play with them. Although I study Biotechnology, I hope I could do my dream in the future.

SUMMARY: The film talks about the wild life, and it also talks about the habit and behavior of many different animals. In wild life, animals are different each other such as habit,behavior and habitat, so these create a nature. Moreover, animals are a close relationship togerther which establishes a circle in life. For example, plants are eaten by herbivore, and herbivore are eaten by carnivore. Furthermore, animals also have different habits such as living and reproduction. For example, in the winter the birds always migrate to South to avoid the cold. Hence, the diversity of nature has created a bond between animals.

COMMENT: This film is very interesting to me because the wild life is diversify. The diversity of nature is very wide, so people still don't know and acknowledge much. The film is excellent that it shoots many lively scenes. For example, they shoot a scene of panther's hunting. I'm very interested in the scene that the camera shoot the dance of the bird, haha they dance like Michale Jason, very cute and funny

Roxina ( Movie )...2

On Saturday I went to cinema with my friends to watch a movie named 21. The movie is about a guy named Ben, who is not in a good financial situation, but he really wants to study in the medical school. In addition, Ben went to the administration of the university to apply for a scholorship, but they didn't accept him, and the principal told him that you have to jump out of the paper, you have to glow if you really want this scholorship because there are a large number of people who desire this scholorship. Ben was very disappointed till his life changed dramatically when his professor offered him a job. The job was counting cards in casino. At the beginning, Ben didn't accept to work with his professor and his group, but after he found out that this is the only way that he can pay the tuition of the medical school, he accepted to work with them. After a short period of time, he earned so much money, but one night he couldn't concentrate, and he didn't count the cards, as a result, he lost the game. After he lost the game, the professor asked him to leave the group, but Ben didn't accept. he didn't leave the group, in addition, he told his friends that we can do this business ourselves, and we don't need the professor to lead us. After this argument with professor, the professor put Ben in some bad situations, moreover, he stole all of his money. Ben really tried to earn the tuition for the medical school, but he couldn't. One day he went back to principle's office and told him the whole story. The principal was shocked when he heard the Ben's story about last 6 months. Finally, Ben won the scholorship and went to the medical school.

Rock Climbing

Hi everybody, last knight was a fun night for me because I went rock climbing with my brother in law. That was my first time going to such a thing, trust me it’s so much fun, and I can’t wait to do it again. So when we went there the gym staff gave us an orientation showed and thought us how to put on a climbing harness, how to tie the figure-8 knot and how to belay and lower our partner. And they also explained how climbing walls are constructed by a variety of methods. Some are made of plywood with wood beam structural supports. Other climbing walls are constructed with steel beam structures with fiberglass. Almost all climbing walls use climbing holds bolt on to the wall to create a climbing route. The difficulty level of the wall is shown by using a climbing difficulty grading scale.
I think every body should go try it and jump on the walls like a monkeys.

Chinatown

Last Friday, Pui and I went to Chinatown after our interview. She wanted buy gifts for her aunt and niece. When we arrived at Chinatown, it was already 12 o’ clock, so we went to a Guangdong restaurant. We ordered chicken and rice. This restaurant is very famous in Chinatown, and it was not experience. Having had lunch, we went to dragon mall. In the end, she bought a coat for her niece, but we couldn’t find any gift for her aunt. We felt tired, so we had to go home. Anyway, we had a good time today.

A movie

I watched the movie called “Lord of War” which was strongly recommended by my friend. Also, starring by Nicolas Cage is another important reason because he is one of my favorite movie stars. The movie shows a true story about a famous arm dealer and how does this business damage all the aspects of his life such as his jobb, marriage and moral conflicts. The movie begins with why he chooses to be an arm dealer and the reason is that he feels excited and self-satisfied to trade guns and he has a potential on it. Then, the middle part of the movie describes how he uses his talents to get successful in the gun business. During this period of success, he struggles between choosing the right side and the evil side. He uses different methods to escaping the sentence of law. However, he is punished at the end. He witnesses that his brother is shot by the merchandise he sells. Meanwhile, his parents, wife and son decide to leave after they find the truth. At the end, he is rich, lonely and cursed. He still continues gun business not only for himself but also for his government. This movie tells people many facts of arm trade, politics, race conflicts and other social issues. I think this movie makes public consider deeply how to solve these problems and make the world better.

When i came to Canada last year, I thought i would not like the foreign singing star and I thought chinese singing star would still keep thier highest pisition in my heart. However, now, everything changed, I began to like foreign star. Maybe it is becasue i am graducally get use to Canada. Also, I used to like listen to some romantic music before i came to canada, but now, Dj and Rock song are now filled my soul. Ok, I'm going to list my favorite singing star below.







Firstly, David gueta was the first DJ player and the first foreign singer who I loved. He is from british. when he was 17, he worked as a DJ at 'Broad' in pairs. and that might be the main reason why he is so successful now, known by whole worlds. Whatever teenagers or aged people, they all like the songs from differnt album of David. For me, his songs are ingredible for me because I have never heard such a wonderful music before. It makes me excited when i feel sleepy. Now I feel that the two most wonderful things in this world are Dj and ciggrates~~~~







Also, Tiesto is also a prefessional Dj player. The difference in music style between David guetta and Tiesto is very easy to find. David's DJ is not as heavy as Tiesto's. Every melody in Tiesto's Dj is comprably heavier than David's. When i listen to Tiesto's music, I felt something was granding my brain's. So, for sure, It will make me feel very excited. Especially, the song called" Traffic". It is very easy to find "Traffic" in youtube or other websites.







The last one is Hedley, he is a rock star. What made me so surprised was Hedley is from Canada. Since I do not like Arivil lavigne, and she gave me a bad impression about canadians' rock band.Whereas, now, when I first saw hedley's song in movie theatre, he just shocked me. That day when I was watching the advertisements which brocast to audiences before the movie, suddenly, a rock band show up in the big screen and the song was so fantastic. And I found it was made by hedley. After the movie, I went back home and searched Hedley in youtube, all his songs came out. I listened all the music from him one by one, and i found he's song is so amazing, much better than Aviril's. "She's so sorry" and "On my own" are my favourite songs until now.All the singers above are the best. lol

A walk to remeber

Hii everyone...Have you watched a movie called a walk to remeber ? it's an old movie but it's my favorite ..It talks about a girl and a boy who shared different dreams and friends..Well love can change everything, their love was growing each day.But destiny was not fair, the girl was sick and her there was no cure for it..They got married and after one year the girl died...If you like romantic movies i recommend it, remember to prepare a box of tissue cause i grantee that you will cry as i did "LOL"..

The living body

Last Wednesday I attended a lecture was about the integumentary system: skin and hair. For me, it was really interesting because I learn some new information about the hair. For example, average human scalp includes about 100,000 hairs, and hair growth and density will be affected by nutrition, gene and hormones. Also, on average, human will lose about 100 hairs a day; furthermore, high fever, emotional stress, and excess vitamin A can lead to temporary hair thinning. Above the information are something we never know before, but it may happen in our daily life.

Lviv, the most beautiful cities of Ukraine, the real pearl of European architecture, and the biggest city in Western Ukraine was founded as a fort in the mid 13th century and named after the King Danulo’s son Lev. Located roughly in the midpoint of Europe, it quickly became the centre of trade and commerce. Due to its geographical location the city was a meeting place of Ukrainian, Polish, Jewish and Austrian cultures. Armenians, Hungarians, Greeks, Italians, Serbs, and many more others lived there for the duration of many centuries. All of them together had introduced wide variety of traditions, cultures, religions and a mix of architecture. Moreover, its architectural landscape joins the monuments of numerous styles and different epochs. From the gothic XIV century to the baroque and Renaissance-style this city impresses all visitors by its amazing beauty!
Lviv has a rich and impressive history. The walls of old Lviv buildings still keep the spirit of past centuries. Cozy streets and fascinating monuments make it a unique tourist attraction among the Ukrainian and Eastern European cities.Being over 750 years old, this place is full of historical sites and architectural splendour, waiting to be discovered by tourists. Its Old Town with ancient buildings and ornate churches was declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1998.
Nowadays all visitors who have ever been in Lviv remember its beauty and always compare with Paris, Prague or London. In fact, people name this city “little Paris and London” in one place. Such comparison has its explanation: because the weather is pretty the same as in London (morning shower and mist, sunny afternoon, and warm evening), and architectural style resembles splendour of Paris, this town is always full with visitors not only from Europe but also from all over the world. Moreover, I can say you, that in Lviv, you may found such streets where staying in the centre you can reach two opposite buildings’ walls by your arms.
Finally, I really want to share some unique facts about my city with you (not all, but a few). First off all, it is the city of thousands stone lions. Indeed, you may found them everywhere: on the streets as the monuments, on the building, roofs, doors, windows, or even at official flags. This animal is our symbol. Also, some interesting fact is that a huge river flows under ground of the city; nevertheless, because sewage and river’s water have being mixed, the town experiences lack of water. However, Lviv’s habitants might be proud for numerous remarkable sights; one of them is that one out of three world’s best Opera Houses is located in this city (other one is also in Ukraine). Moreover, in 2006 Hert Hoff, world’s famous performer of laser’s show, made a fantastic gift for Lviv’s 750 celebration (you may watch part of it here http://youtube.com/watch?v=_CS6dZ9D4bE 
I’m really happy to be born in this amazing city, and for me it is the best place in theworld!!!!!!!!!!! :))))))

Chinatown trip and wrong direction

Last Friday after finishing interview, I went to Chinatown with Xingxing. We went to Chinese restaurant (I forgot a name of restaurant), and then we walked around Chinatown because I wanted to find a birthday’s gift for my niece. Finally, I bought a sweater for her. After that we decided to go to shopping at Eton Center; however, we changed our plan at Bloor-Yonge station because Xingxing was sleepy and I was tried. At finch station, I suggested her to take YRT bus same as me to her home because we though a bus’s stops was not far from her house. However, Xingxing found that she had to walk further than before.

Angkor Wat Temple

Today I watched a movie with my friend named another woman's husband. The movie is about a man who is married, but he is interested in another woman. Even though, her wife really loved him, and she tried her best to make her husband happy, the husband was cheating on her with another woman. The guy was a lier and he didn't tell his girl friend that he is still married, he just told her that he is divorced. One night the guy asked his girl friend to go on a trip with him to Bahama. What he said about the trip made his girl friend happy, but she had a problem with water. In other words, she wanted to go to the tirp, but she was afraid of water, and swimming in the ocean. As a result, she went to a community center to learn swimming. Accidently, her teacher was her boy friend's wife, but neither of them know about this relationship. After couple of months, they became very close friends, but one day one of the students of the woman who was a swimming teacher died. The day after, the woman who was taking swimming courses went to the funeral to meet her friend. All of a sudden she saw his boy friend with her swimming teacher, and she found out that they guy was cheating on her wife with her. At the end, she broke up with her bory friend, and after a while the guy's wife found out about the relationship between her friend and his husband, so she got divorce from his husband. The End

who know how to report incometax?

Hi ever body,
As you know, on Monday, I went with Xingxing to find the solution for her in almost every place in York University. Unfortunately we spent almost one hour and a half to find the answers, but we could not find the answers. Moreover, we felt disappointed with the service in free tax clinic. I wondered why they did not have a service for international students because York University has many international students study in here. I think even though we have lived in Toronto for long time, we still don't know how to report income tax or contact with the government. If you have friends who know how to report income tax, please tell Xing-xing.

Reporting Income Tax in Canada

A couple months ago, I received a T5 slip from TD Bank. They told me that I need to report income tax because I get interest from the bank. At that time, I had no idea what income tax is, so I totally forgot the letter. My grandparents remind me of reporting income tax this Monday; however, I still didn’t know what income tax is. Pui and I went YUELI office to ask about my case. They suggested me to go to York International in Vanier College. We went there, but they told me that it would be better to go to York Student Service. Unfortunately, when I described my case to a staff in Student Service, he told me that they even didn’t know how to deal with. He told me it would be better to find a lawyer or this kind of service.
I think the process of reporting income tax is complicated, and we are international students. We came here for a short time, and we don’t know the law and rules in Canada. However, only few people and communities can help us. We pay everything as every citizen, and we also pay more than them. However, we cannot get enough help. I think it’s unfair for us.

Sushi ! ! !

Hi everyone! As you know, Japanese food is famous about sushi. I found a video that show how to eat sushi (link here). I hope you are interesting :).

After you watched the video, I guessed you are surprise because of the way they eat sushi. Some of you think that it's really complicated and inconvenient to eat like that, and some said: " Wow! Japanese is polite ." In my opinion, I think that Japanese culture is fascinating. The way they enter the restaurant, ask for the seats, order food and how they eat show their respect in society. Moreover, the way they savor sushi show their high requirement of eating. Unlike my country, Vietnamese usually eat very much until they full. Therefore, in your opinion, eating to live or living to eat. Which one do you refer? :)

Nazareth

Nazareth was a small and insignificant village during the period of Jesus. The valley and its history were well known to the Jews of Nazareth in the time of Jesus. During the first 30 years of his life spent in Nazareth. Nazareth is the largest Arab city in Israel, with a population of 70,000, once split nearly evenly between Christians and Muslims, but now nearly two-thirds Muslim. A Byzantine church was built over the place where it is believed that the angel Gabriel announced the birth of Jesus to the virgin Mary. In 1966 the Roman Catholic Church began constructing a new basilica over these remains and today this church is the largest church building in the Middle East. Arena, Nicole, Roxina and Elson

Firstly, I should explain that why I did not go to school today. The reason is I got cold last night, because I didn't close my window. Moreover, it was snowy last night. Anyway, feel sorry for absent today.

Arena is my sister, but she is not really my sister since we have not blood related. I know her since my first time in yueli. By that time, I was scared by Yueli because I never use English so much before, and I do not have idea about what to say. Occasionally, Arena was sitting beside me in my first Yueli class. At first, I did not say anything to her, because she looks like a shy girl as well. However, when the first group work began, she became so talk. It seems like she will never stop talking. As time went on, I knew more and more about her, and we always hang out after school. Now, I feel like there is no gap between she and me. We talk about everything, mainly something about realationship with guys and girls in Yueli. For me, Arena is just a kid since she do not know as much about this world as me. So, sometimes I always try to be her adviser.

Nicole is a korean girl. I know her through Arena because Arena is one of the best friends of Nicole. I first met nicole in my first seminar class. At first, I thought nicole is a silent girl but after hanging out with her several time, I found she is so cute but with a little emotional. If some bad things happen to her, she will not spread her emotion out. Insdead, she always hide his sadness. after hanging out serval times with her, I became one of his best friends. When she feel upset, she always call me or talk to me in msn to vomit all her feeling to me. However, I do not feel unconfortable when she vomit her feeling to me, Instead, I feel glad to share his upset because I have already written down of her name in my list of best friends

Roxina.... I do not have any comments, hahahahahah. She is so so so cute. she is humous. When we talk about something in class or between friends, she will suddenlly say some words, especially some stange idea which do not related to our topic, but the words from her mouth are always funny. Sometimes, she will make us laugh to death. However, she is changeble, she is changing her mind in every single second. I feel i m a bad guy because i always joking at her about her appearance. However, the most important thing for her is appearance. As a result, she always mad at me when i joking about her appearance. Anyways, that is not offence. And she knows.

Long weekend

Hello everybody...I hope taht u all enjoyed your long weekend..Unfortunatly i didn't i had to work all the time but i had some fun i watched 2 movies one was freaky friday it's a comedy movie i was laughing the whole time i would recomend you to watch it...The other movie is arabic it's a comedy as well and i had so much fun watching it...Well i'm kind of furstrated by the weather i hope it will be better the next couple of days...I have nothing more to talk about that's pretty much everything...

Last week, I went back to Taiwan to attend my grandfather’s funeral. In general, this” trip” is good and tight, although some parts were pretty sorrowful. Recently, every time when I think of my grandfather, I still do not want to admit that he has left us already. He was a kind person, he loved grandchildren dearly and care for this family. Yesterday, my friend told me that she dreamed my grandfather. She said that, in the dream, I cried sorrowfully, and my grandfather told to her that he left smoothly without any pain; therefore, he asked me do not cry anymore. When my friend told me about this dream, I was surprised and comforted. Now I fell much better.

…. but maybe it is better to say, “Happy Easter!” :) Yes, you can say that Easter has been left behind; nevertheless, the spirit of this holyday is still staying all around the city of Toronto. Although weather is far away from desirable and peculiar to spring season, this fact did not prevent the beautiful celebration of Ester and, finally, beginning of spring! However, such cold and snowy weather had chance to make its corrections by pushing away Toronto’s Easter Parade. This great event Toronto has enjoyed for over 40years. Fortunately, as during long time as well this year Ester Parade ran along Queen Street West on Sunday, March 23rd. I can say that it was all good fun! Almost two hours people were enjoying Ester celebration. All possible kinds of participants showed something special for people who walked around. Of course, any Easter is not fully enjoyed without Easter Bunny; therefore, almost everyone tried to wear “bunny’s ears”. It was funny to look on every single person (from child to adult) with such “ears”, but no doubt they all were really happy! Around 2000 participants and thousands more lined the street even though there was only one sidewalk. It was wonderful holiday despite of frigid but sunny weather. :)

Should we use robot in our lives?

Hello! Everyone! I went to a student-led discussion. The topic was should we use robot in our lives. At the begining of the discussion, I agreed that we should use robot in our lives. Just like my friend said during the discussion robot could do some simple and repeatable work for human, so it saved a lot of time and human resource. Also, the robot could do some dangerous work such as high-altitude operation, mining and diving。If they can deal with the problem that is dangerous to human, why don't we use them? In my opinion, using robot is a good idea for human. However, I also agreed with some students that people can not depend on the robot. Once people rely on the robot too much, human may not control the robot especially when the robot has intelligence. It will be a big challenge for human. When the discussion almost finished, a student's words changed my mind. She said people should consider to use the robot carefully. Because if some people intended to use the robot to commit crime such as murder, it would be difficult for human to find the clue of the real criminal. Even if we found the criminal, they still had the excuse for which they could say there was a system error. This makes me rethink the topic question. While someting benefits us, it may bring some risks.

The Second Learning Center

Being a high educated people is one of the most significant achievements of people in many perspectives. Due to a high competitive of recent job market, a majority of student turn well-study to a high responsible for their future careers. Numbers of available facilities on campuses are filled up daily to a limited numbers of students; thus, others minority have no options but to wait. Waiting, is it the only solution? I guess not :(

Toronto Public Libraries would be another valuable facilities available for all types of people with no requirement. Toronto Reference Library is the biggest of all public library with six stories, located downtown (Young & Bloor). Tens of thousands of varieties of books in all subjects including ESLs are always ready for students to read. Beside the books, the library also offers all kinds of study material for nonnative English speakers. Sounds great!!!

What is more, free high-speed Internet access and private group-study rooms are also available in the library at the main floor. A quiet environment surrounded by all working hard students strongly comfort and persuade me to work hard as well.

Is the library just about study? I also disagree :(

The library is also a great place to meet new friends from all over the world. Chat to exchange and experience new cultures would also benefit our general knowledge as well as release stress.

I strongly recommend everybody go to the public libraries close to where you live.

student-led discussion

I attended student-led discussion last Thursday. We discussed about gambling in Casino: are Casino responsible for gambling? Someone thought that it's government's responsibility because government allow those Casinos to open. However, most of us thought that it's personal's responsibility because it's an individual choice. No one force them to gamble, on the other word, people who went to Casino were volenteers. I agreed with this opinion. Those people who went to Casino are adults, and they are mature enough to make a decision; therefore, they should take responsibility for their own choice.

Dream? It's weird, but funny

I find that I usually dream when I sleep well. I dream very much , so my friends often call me dreamers. Last night, I slept on my bed, and I began to dream. I dreamt that I am a golden fish, and everything surrounding me is water. I could not believe that I can breath in water.Wow! I was great. I looked around to know where I am, and I realize that I was in my house, a sandy house. After that, I saw my parents; actually, they also was fishes like me ^^. I heard that they call me : "Hieu, your breakfast was already, hurry up!". I swam quickly to have a breakfast. What! My breakfast? What was that! I looked closely to my breakfast. Oh my god! These were worms, my face changed the colour. I thought how I can eat them, but I was a fish now. I try to eat some, but it was delicious, the taste like a noddle soup that I often eat every morning. After I finished my breakfast, I had sat on chair ( do you imagine that how a fish can sit on a chair? ). My parents said to me:" If you won't hurry up, you would miss your class'. I thought: " What! I had to go to school?", but I obey to go to school, for I wanted to know how it was.
Left to my house, I saw a lot of kind of fishes such as whales, puffers, sharks,ect... . The fishes used the vehicle that look like a small rough box, and some of them used motorcycles that looked so funny. I looked around , and I realized some familiar face. They were exactly my friends, and they were seahorses. They swam so funny that made me laugh a lot. My friends said to me: " hey man! what are laughing for ?", I said "No, nothing, let's go to school guys".
After that, I woke up, and I felt very happy. I thought that sometimes people should have some silly dream like that because we can relax and happy with our dream. Although it is not logical, it can help you to remember or discover new things like the vehicles of the fishes ^^.

The Faculty of Fine Arts

Today, Pui and I went to see the Faculty of Fine Arts at York Universtiy. The festival will last until the end of the month. They will pick up 40 exciting and entertaining events: exhibitions, theatre and dance productions, film screenings, multimedia shows, and a wide variety of classical, jazz and world music concerts. Fortunately, today was Jazz Festival. We walked though the building and saw the showcasing. If we could wait until 7:00, we would watch a film. I recommend our classmates to go to the Faculty of Fine Arts.

Hi all, today I'd like to talk about the weather in Canada. When I first came to Canada, I was so excited about the snow as we don’t have any in Israel. After spending three winters here; however, I realized why Canadians keep complaining about the weather. It is indeed cold, extremely cold and unbelievably cold! Through those years I have learned to live in this kind of weather and even enjoy it, to some extent though! I have learned snowboarding and I really like it, although it was hard at first. I kept bumping into trees the first couple or three times. This year; however, I didn’t get the chance to go snowboarding or bumping into the trees, as I was too busy studying, doing my homework and working. As you already know, this year we got tons of snow, and as you can see from this picture we got enormous amounts of snow in Newmarket, it even covered the pool.
